A Future 4 U

Change comes about when you are tired of your current reality.  When you have a dream of what you want for your future but you believe it will never happen then that is what you get.  No change.  When you believe that it can happen then you will find a way to make it happen because that is your belief, your thoughts.

If I may I will share one of my experiences.  When I was growing up my mother was a negative person and nothing I did was right.  She led me to believe I could not do anything.  My dream was to become a Nurse and I kept that dream even though my mother told me I wouldn't be able to do that.  I kept that dream until my high school counselor called me in my senior year and told me to forget about college that I would be lucky to get a job at the local five and dime store (better known today as a dollar store).  Then I believed my mother was right so I gave up my dream.  That is until I was 25 and then I started to believe I could go to college.

I started at the University of Oklahoma to get an accounting degree.  I was afraid to take the core courses of English and History because that was what I had the hardest time with in high school.  I finally took my first English course and the professor gave me a C no matter what kind of paper I wrote.  I went to him and asked what I needed to do to make a better grade and his response was that  I would never get any better because C's were I made in High School.  Well there you go-I would never be able to get a degree.  Why?  Because I let other people tell me I COULD NOT do it.  I let myself believe them.

Well guess what,  10 years later at 35 I again decided I could get a degree.  I didn't let anybody tell me I couldn't.  I worked full time and went to school full time.  When it got hard and I felt like I was failing I would get help.  I graduated Suma Cum Laud with a Bachelor of Social work degree.  Why?  Because I believed I could do it and I was going to prove all those other people wrong.  Not only did I get a BSW degree I then went back to graduate school and got a Master of Arts degree.  Neither of these were easy but I needed them to do what I wanted to do, not to just say I had a degree.

I had to believe each and every day that I could do it and I had to work hard to do it.

Do you want change?  Do you believe?  Are you willing to put all the naysayers out of your mind and put belief in?  Are you ready to do your due diligence and work as hard as you need to, to make the change happen?  There are many people out here to help you.

Everything in reality manifest from the mind so as Henry Ford said:

You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it come true. The achievement of your goal is assured the moment you commit yourself to it. If you have the desire, you have the power to attain it. You can have anything you want in life if you will sacrifice everything else for it....Your dreams can come true if you pursue them. Where there's a will, there's a way.
